Speed up Smartbro Broadband tips

After typhoon pepeng, my Digitel Internet line was wire cut and service take so much time so i decided to apply for smartbro plan 999. But unfortunately, there is unlimited internet at globe tattoo and Digitel was came back to online. I was laughing at myself about what happen. It is an experience that me having 3 Internet Service Provider. So i let my friend mark to borrow the Globe Tattoo and Digitel only for Wifi Laptops of my neighboring house for my cousins. And smartbro just for me, this is to avoid idle usage of service and i cannot say "Sayang ang pera" or money was wasted.

We all know that most of the hardware of telecommunication in the Philippines use a technology which is not really came from them. SmartBro use a hardware from Motorola Philippines, where you can access it's canopy settings at http://169.254.1.1/ . Here is the steps in tweaking up your Smart Broadband. Please don't change other settings if you don't know what you are doing.

1. Go to "Run" or Open any browser such as Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox
2. Type: "http://169.254.1.1/" If you cannot find canopy settings, just try and error changing the .1.1 to .1.2 and so on to get the right IP.
3. Now you should see the Canopy settings of Motorola Wireless Broadband Platform which must be open. If there is a password, try username: admin, password: admin.
4. At the right side, there is a navigation: Home, Configuration, Statistics, Tools, Logs, Account, PDA and Copyright.
5. Click Configuration
6. Under configuration, see and click the QoS or Quality of Service
7. You should change the following data to the maximum: Sustained Uplink Data Rate : 50, Sustained Downlink Data Rate : 950, Uplink Burst Allocation : 1500, Downlink Burst Allocation : 1500, Enable Broadcast/ Multicast Data Rate : Enabled and changed it to 1000. CIR must be adjusted to 100 which is different from the picture below, just ignore the 0 and changed it to 100 CIR the four remaining text box below or Committed Information Rate. You may enlarge the picture to view a sample.8. Then save changes
9. Now go to General Settings
10. Change the link Speed to Auto 100F/100H
11. Now save changes again
12. Then Finally Click reboot or reboot the canopy

Explanation is simple, actually you didn't cheat. You are just adjusting settings. If you know the principles of Data Communications and Networking you know what i mean about Download and Upload and Kbps Settings. Smart Bro Technicians give a default of 200kbps for both upload and download, and that is really different on the advertisement they are showing which is up to 512Kbps. So you should change the settings to a higher download rate and lower upload if you are not much uploading videos at youtube. This is legal and it is really for you, actually they are the one cheating if they give you a lower connections based on the advertisement they show.

When i download the album of Taylor Swift, i got a good speed of 90KB/sec which is above the normal speed of 50KB/sec and Youtube is not Lagging. Please share this ideas to all who are using Smartbro.
